Hans Smid, Drs.

Hans Smid, Doctor in Sports

Since successfully completing his medical boards, Hans Smid (1960) has work among other things as an assistant doctor of orthopedics at the Franciscus hospital in Roosendal and the Saint Clara hospital in Rotterdam. He also served as an assistant doctor of cardiology in the Laurentius hospital in Roermond and completed his education in 2000.

Hans has served as a physician for the Dutch Speed Skating Federation, (KNSB) as well as a highly successful professional speed skating team, (Spaarselect), through the 1998 and 2002 Winter Olympic Games

Since 1998 Hans as served as an advisor for the Dutch National Cycling Federation, (KNWU) and served on their medical commission. Hans has a varied background in both program monitoring and athlete evaluation in both elite sports as well as the general public. He has a wealth of experience in training and adaptations with individuals with diabetes and cardiovascular and cardiorespiratory disease and risk factors.
