Myo Matrix Release 3-D …what?

http://www.humanmotion.nl/uploads/categories/SeminarCat68Myo Matrix Release 3-D technique: Upper Extremity and neck. MMR 3-D is a new course and the title a mouth full! The course will be organized on 6 and 7 June.Time to ask the founder of this course who he is and what this course is all about.

This course is developed together with HumanMotion and originally developed by Peter Lundgren in cooperation with lead instructor Mark Scappaticci for treating professional and Olympic athletes to enhance clinical outcomes. The course is interactive, very hands-on and not based on a cooky-cutter approach but on principles so the participants will be challenged to learn a system you can use everywhere in soft tissue in order to find tissue tension lines.

An interview with one of the founders – Peter Lundgren from Sweden and a so called Naprapat

What does your profession Naprapat exactly mean?
It’s a five-year education in manual medicine. During the first four years it covers topics from anatomy and physiology to nutrition biomechanics progressing to massage techniques and manual adjustments. Last year is a practical internship treating patients and managing cases.

Which techniques do you use in your clinic?
I use dry needling, manual adjustments, soft tissue tension release technique, FAT tool and drop table adjustments. I combine these in a specific manner called Functional Integrated Therapy. The way the modalities are combined helps speed up recovery as well as optimizes performance.

What kind of injuries do you treat usually?
In my clinic I see everything from acute injuries such as sports injuries to chronic pain management. I also see a number of complex cases that are a result of failed surgery or severe trauma cases.

Why did you develop the soft tissue course?
It was an evolution from the FAT-Tool work I have been doing for the past several years. The FAT-Tool Technique is great at identifying and loosening areas of increase tension from superficial to deep structures. MMR follows similar principles and allows me to identify and treat tissue tension lines in a 3-D way in the body for different clinical conditions.

Is it a blend of different techniques?
It was something that started to play since 2009 after attending a performance optimization workshop presented by Dr. Scappaticci. He introduced me to the FAT-Tool techniques and I started combining FAT-Tool and manual treatments and finally developed this program.

What are the advantages of this technique?
MMR takes soft tissue treatment methods to the next level. This technique helps uncover the actual cause of soft tissue pain and not just treats the local area of complaint. Often MMR takes you to places distant to the area of complaint. You also save a lot time when you can assess and treat at the same time. It takes into consideration the whole myofascial matrix. It’s not a cookie cutter approach. For patients that presents with similar conditions you often find different lines of tissue tension that need to be released in order to fix the problem.

For who is this course designed?
It is designed for any health care professional that is interested in taking their soft tissue treatment skills to the next level.
