Dr. Phil Plisky

Dr. Plisky has been involved with the Functional Movement Systems, spending numerous years in research, developing the Y Balance Test, and implementing the system for sports teams, clinical practice and the military. Dr. Plisky knows how to successfully integrate the Functional Movement Systems into real world practice. He ­­­­­leads a sports residency program that develops physical therapists into functional movement and sports rehabilitation experts.  This program boasts a 100% first time pass rate of the rigorous ABPTS Sports Specialty Certification Exam.

Dr. Plisky is an Assistant Professor in the University of Evansville’s Doctor of Physical Therapy Program. He is the Director of the ProRehab and the University of Evansville’s Sports Residency Program, as well as a practicing therapist at ProRehab.

Dr. Plisky’s clinical practice and research focuses on comprehensive movement testing and injury prevention among athletes, military personnel, and school aged children. Dr. Plisky’s fieldwork, moreover, has garnered research grants in collaboration with multiple universities totaling over 3 million dollars. Additionally, he consults for collegiate and professional teams, military, and school systems to identify injury risk and develop prevention systems. His peer-reviewed articles have appeared in numerous scientific journals; for several of which he serves as a manuscript reviewer. Dr. Plisky also presents internationally on the subjects of return to sport testing, injury prevention, and field expedient movement testing.

Dr. Plisky earned a Master of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Evansville and a Doctor of Science degree in Orthopedic Physical Therapy from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions. He is a board certified clinical specialist in orthopedics through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. He is also a Certified Athletic Trainer and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.
